  1. Fun post mashaa Allah! I’ve enjoyed reading the comments from your other readers too, it’s fun seeing what other people would choose 🙂 I would say I would go for a camera, it’s been on my wishlist for a while!

    1. Amina Edota July 8, 2017

Awesome! Another camera lover… click, click. I rely too much on my phone cameras but admire professional cameras and the powerful shots they can take. Our world has become so visual we need to have a good camera at hand always. I will need a camera buying guide soon 🙂

Barak Allaah feeki for sharing this! This was fun to read, and you have shared some great Islamic and practical tips for gift giving.
It was also very helpful of you to include a link to the “shop floor” on Amazon –excellent for lazier people like me, haha!
I thiiinnnkk I will want to get a good camera for blog photos, and a dictaphone for interviews. Good investments for blog people like us! Maybe if there’s some money left (unlikely), I would treat myself to a Kindle. I better start working on my du’aa!

    Jazak Illaah khair <3

    1. Amina Edota July 8, 2017

Masha Allah… Wa iyyaki. Now I need to go and look up the features and capabilities of a dictaphone. Never thought about that with all the apps/software out there for audio recording. Camera is definitely a great investment.

  3. Sainab July 8, 2017

I’d probably get myself a new phone and a new SLR camera.

    1. Amina Edota July 8, 2017

Great choices – may be tempted too with a phone since it serves as my mini laptop assistant these days. But doubt if I will have any change leftover for a phone, laptop will have to come first. Want to experiment with an Apple.

  4. Afreen July 7, 2017

Nice post .It is sometimes difficult to choose gift for some people..

  5. Umm Ruqaiya July 6, 2017

Like #Multicultural Motherhood said, I am also not really into digital gadgets but if I was given this $1000 to spend on this specific category then I would do either of the two: if the gift giver allows I would give the entire amount to hubby and let him take the charge OR buy as many good kindle readers as I can buy and keep them in my gift stock 😀 (we can pass down a gift Islamically speaking).

    1. Amina Edota July 7, 2017

Good thinking… and a lot of ajr your way. Need to pass my dream kindle specs over to you so you can include me on the gift list from now ? . I love kindle but could do with a newer version.

  6. I am not really in to digital gadgets but if I had the money I would buy a nice CD player so my kids could listen to audio books and nasheeds while they play.

    1. Amina Edota July 7, 2017

That’s a nice one. I love audiobooks myself and encourage reading in the different formats – keeps the reading experience exciting.

  7. rushtosuccess July 6, 2017

Thank you for sharing this. I usually get blank about gifts. “What should i gift to that person or that?”. You made it easy. We used to play outside in our young age but Nowadays gadgets are more important for youth than people… 😀

    1. Amina Edota July 7, 2017

I admit it can get difficult trying to choose gifts for others. But for oneself – nah! My virtual list is always ready for my most important needs.

For the young ones – outdoor life and play does not have to be compromised for tech life. They can have the best of both – monitor and regulate screen time and even use tech as a family. It has both good and bad side to it as with most things in life.

    Love Amazon for everything!
It’s a great idea buying digital gifts for friends. I always get my headphones from Amazon. But I haven’t got any big electronics like phones or laptops from Amazon. Would love to hear others experiences with buying those from them!

    1. Amina Edota July 7, 2017

Same here… I’m an Amazon fan! With a gift of £1,000 – it’s a no brainier what gadgets I would snap up in an hour online or offline. It’s a gift after all… Yours for spending.
