  1. I use Social Media a great deal for my business. My family think I’m an addict but I disagree. Maybe the first step is to admit you have a problem! hahahah!
I do enjoy the fact that I can keep in touch with my cousins and family across the world.

  2. Taking the dare! switched off my phone for today! Since I have been spending a lot of time on my phone and my son has started noticing it too! So switched off my phone so I dont have to check my instagram and Facebook CONSTANTLY.

Good for you! Well done masha Allah. Its no good for the little ones to pick up bad digital habits from the adults in their lives. It is a constant battle fighting the urge to check, check and check updates.

  3. Truth- hmmm well, I’m online for couple of minutes at a time because I have three kids at home, whom I homeschool. My youngest is one years old, who loves my attention, so there isn’t a time I’m online for more than 5 mins. If I added up the times, I think maybe 1-2 hours a day or less. I could be wrong lol.

  4. I can easily take the dare. 5 hours is easy to do. I prefer to switch off my internet when I am going to bed, and it allows me to sleep without any notifications ringing. And I only switch on my internet after I have prayed fajr and read my duas and Quran.
As for how many hours on social media. I can’t say exactly how much, as I will be on it here and there, during the day. If i had to add it all up, I wouldn’t know how long but I don’t think it will reach 10 hours.

  5. On average I think I spend 2 hours a day on Instagram! Maybe more :-/ What can I say I love looking at photos!

  6. I’m mostly active on Facebook and WhatsApp only. Admittedly, it’s so easy to lose track of time while on social media, but I’m on the look out, in shaa Allah.

  7. Interesting yet challenging to many πŸ™‚ I’m not an addict to social media but in a way, I’m connected to it, especially, with Instagram. I spend time reading blogs. I don’t stalk people or waste time in FB or Twitter. I make it productive. However I admit that i do idle online, but not in social media all the time. πŸ™‚

  8. What an interesting idea! I think i’ve probably already spent about 10 hours on social media today :O It sounds like a lot when I say it out loud, damn.

    • Amina Edota says:

Woow 10 hours! Such a thief of our productive hours and focus. It’s so easy to browse away isn’t it? Especially on mobile… Social media is an addiction we can live without.

  9. Truth — Less than an hour or two for the day and past few days so far ever since I’ve deleted my Instagram account and my Facebook account being a dummy profile now for my pages πŸ™‚

    • Amina Edota says:

Thumbs up to you. Like seriously? That’s such a super duper measure to take. I’m sure you have more productive hours and less distractions to deal with online.

  10. I use Facebook and Instagram mostly and Twitter sometimes bur not too much. For me social media is the only way of socialising because I don’t have any friends where I am living nowadays.
