Your Badge of Tawheed
True, your identity is unique to you.
It is a badge which plays a defining role in who you are to yourself and to others in both personal and social life.
Your Islamic identity is the essence of your life. It hinges on the belief, understanding and implementing of Tawheed [Islamic monotheism].
And it requires that you submit to Allah (swt) in every matter and worship Him as He deserves to be worshiped. Because your covenant with Allah (swt) is to worship Him alone, without partners.
Never has the time been so right for you to think, live and breathe Islam in your daily life. It is a truly a lifeline, in a world where Islam and Muslims are constantly under the lens.
The challenge is how to get started. Below are two keys to help you unlock what is uniquely yours.
O you who have believed, obey Allah and obey the Messenger and those in authority among you. And if you disagree over anything, refer it to Allah and the Messenger, if you should believe in Allah and the Last Day. That is the best [way] and best in result.
Surat An-Nisaa: (Qur’an 4; 59)
#1: Through Belief: Always reaffirm Tawheed in your heart because this is what it is naturally inclined towards.
Every child is born upon an instinct to worship the Lord and creator alone… [Bukhari & Muslim]
Then verbalise this belief through constant utterance of the words of remembrance. Through this, your soul remains purified on the truth of Tawheed – the which your fitrah turns towards.
#2:Through Lifestyle: Adapt your daily practices to the universal Islamic culture – based on Qur’an and Sunnah.
Build simple habits aligned with guidance from these two sources – all based on truly living Tawheed and calling to Tawheed.
From your speech, to dressing, mannerism, career, dawah skills, studies and daily interactions – all should be based on Islam.
It should not be considered a parallel or a roadblock.
